The original hardshell case was also reupolstered and re lined with red at some point with some groovy studs on the black nauga exterior and only 2 of the three latches still function. At one point, the owner installed a fender type pickup in the neck position and removed a small bit of wood but the original toaster bar pickups have been reinstalled and the guitar sounds great with that famous Rickenbacker sound.
Original Kauffman Vib-Rola present but the original long chromed handle is long gone. Finish on the flamey neck back is long gone but worn down to a lovely and very smooth lightning fast bare wood that looks and plays great. Difficult to discern the original finish color but she appears pretty even and not bursty so it may well be an original Mapleglow finish. Natural relicing to the max with spots on the back and the front armrest area where the finish has been worn right down to the wood but looks great with a great patina and vintage vibe. The guitar does have playwear but the fretboard and frets are in good shape and the instrument plays great up and down with no buzzing or issues. The guitar looks, plays, and sounds simply fantastic with a wonderful chime, resonance, and killer vintage vibe. But also cared for very well with obvious signs of honest playwear but no breaks, repairs, or issues. And, they say the best guitars always get played and played - and this instrument has indeed been loved very well over the years.
